We know what you are thinking - 'Oh noez, the world is going to end'. But your troubles have now been washed away, netGameRadio's flash game of the week #5 may be a day late, but its here to stay!
An object in motion stays in motion until acted upon by an outside force. In Castle Clout: Return of the King these outside forces are some neat artificial gravity and a castle full of delightfully squishy targets.
Castle Clout is pretty simple. You're armed with a trebuchet and tasked with doing as much damage to a castle and its inhabitants as you can.
You can either hit them directly with your projectiles or have them crushed to death by knocking down the castle like nine pins. It starts off easy, the beginning castles look like something whipped up by the first of the three little pigs but as the game progresses you will find some nearly impenetrable fortresses that require precise mouse clicking skills to overcome. To counter the ever fortifying structures, you're also rewarded with new ammunition for your trebuchet, these being larger rocks, cluster shots and bombs. As you progress you'll also gain access to heavier counterweights which will make your shots fly further.
Each level you'll need to score a certain number of points to progress to the next. You earn points for damaging the castle and killing the guards and king. Take a step back at the start of each level and study the castle. If you bring down the wrong part of it first you may just shelter targets behind a wall of compacted rubble - annoying when you only need a few hundred more points to proceed.
Castle Clout is a time filler. It's simple, it doesn't have an clever concept or awesome music and doesn't require much concentration. This is the sort of flash game you can mess around with for a few minutes to break the office monotony (while your boss isn't watching). However if you and your friends do find yourselves addicted to it do note that it's possible to both build your own castles and share them with your mates.
If you're like us with time on your hands and felt like doing the full monty, here are the scores to beat:
